At long last, our Isagenix To Go app is now available for Android devices!
Isagenix To Go puts a collection of media in your hands, wherever you go. Whether you’re doing a house party, talking to people at the mall, or just chatting someone up in line, you can show people:
* Videos
* Photo Gallery
* The Isagenix Catalog
* Product Descriptions
* Slide Presentations
* Web links to Isagenix and IsaGeeks
…and a number of other bits of media designed to help you tell the Isagenix story wherever you are.
Here’s what you’ll need to do to download the app:
ATTENTION: These instructions may vary from one Android device to another. Email us if you need links to instructions for yours in particular.
1) Go to Settings > Applications. Check mark the box next to, “Unknown Sources.” Since this app isn’t in the Android Market (yet!) you’ll need to make sure your phone allows installation of non-Market apps.
2) Once you’ve done that, go to http://isagenixtogo.com using your web browser.
3) Click on the button that says, “INSTALL for Android.”
After that, everything should be easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!
With all the buzz surrounding Apple’s recent releases of iOS 5 and the iPhone 4S, you may or may not be aware of the changes coming for Android. If you’re an Android user, however, you may be curious.
So here’s what’s what:
Android 2.3, also known as “Gingerbread,” was released last year for Android phones. Not every phone available uses Gingerbread, but up until recently it was the most up-to-date version you could find.
Android 3.0 is known as “Honeycomb.” This was released early this year for Andoid tablets only. I’ve used it on our in-house tablet, and frankly it’s a big step beyond the phone version of Android. There are a number of phones that are getting updated with Gingerbread – you can see this list to find out if your phone is due to get this upgrade or not.
Android 4.0 – called “Ice Cream Sandwich,” or ICS for short – will now be coming out on newer phones and tablets.
The idea behind this OS is to tie together the phones and tablets with the same operating system. The reason for this is to tie together apps, so developers don’t need to create for either the phone version of Android or the tablet version – now, one app should work on both.
ICS has also been heavily redesigned, as the biggest complaint about Android on phones has been it just doesn’t look, “finished.” ICS builds on the improved user interface that Honeycomb brought. It is now packed with oodles of features that haven’t been available to date on other Android devices. Check this out for more specifics on what it will come armed with.
The big question now is: If you already own an Android device, will you be able to upgrade it to use ICS?
There are rumors that ICS can “theoretically” run on an Andoid 2.3 device. Translation: If you have a phone using Gingerbread, it may or may not get an upgrade.
What’s more, since there are a number of phones that have an older version of Android, a lot of people may not even have Gingerbread anyway. Computer World posted about this a few months ago, and has been maintaining a list of devices that may or may not get Gingerbread. If you’re curious about where your current Android phone falls, you may want to see that too.
Confused? I don’t blame you. The problem with all of this is every phone manufacturer decides how they’re going to roll out upgrades to the Android operating system – so there isn’t any “one” roll out. Most of what we know about the latest version of Android, and who will get to use it, is based on rumor and guesswork.
If you want the latest and greatest build of Android for your phone or tablet, my advice is to not buy one and hope for it to be upgraded – wait for the phones that ship with the new operating system to be available first.
