A Great Example of “Sticky Content”

Whether you want new visitors or search engine rankings, the best way to get either is to have sticky content – information on your page that makes people want to stay on your page. If you can make posts to your blog that have low bounce rates and long times on site, (things you can measure with Google Analytics, you haven’t set that up for your site already), people will bookmark your post and share it with others. If You Want To Do Well, Write Good Content

To get search rankings that bring in lots of new readers (and then, customers), having content that gives people what they need to know is the best search optimization you can do. Tips For Your Blog

When you do start blogging, you’ll want to keep a few things in mind to be successful at it:

1)      You need to post regularly. A lot of people have one idea for a blog post that’s brilliant, so they start a blog, publish that idea, and then… well, nothing. They don’t have any more steam, and so the blog just molders. (As much as electrons in cyberspace can molder.) To keep a blog going, you need a central idea for all posts, and continually think up and publish new aspects of that idea all the time. (more…)

Why You Should Be Blogging

Blogging is one of those things that’s scary to people new to the Internet: You have to write posts, you have to do it often, and you have to be public about it. If it weren’t for all of that writing, the time it takes, and the stage fright, everyone would be blogging.

Of course, everyone is blogging. According to BlogPulse, there are currently 126,861,574 blogs, with over 42,000 new blogs and over 1,000,000 new posts each day. (And that’s just what they’re able to find!)
